On the heels of our New Years’ Rockin Eve Eve show on December 30, the Major Majors—joined once again by our good friend Omar Azam—will be taking the stage again on March 17 for a St. Patrick’s Day Bash. In honor of the occasion, we’ll be debuting a few new originals and covers, including some by your favorite Irish rockers!

The Independence Tap is at 3932 W Irving Park Rd near Pulaski, not far from the Kennedy Expressway and from the Irving Park CTA Blue Line Station.

Missing the Major Majors? Then find your way to Phyllis’ Musical Inn on the penultimate night of the year for a rare reunion show of the original MMs and the supergroup-like addition of our long-time associate Omar Azam!

Located in Wicker Park a few minutes walk from the Ashland & Division Blue Line CTA station, Phyllis’ has been a patron of local acts great and small for over a quarter century… And it won’t blow your budget on the Friday night before you ring in 2012.

We have certainly enjoyed rocking out there in the past, and are thrilled to be going back again. Hope you can join us, and tell all your [Facebook] friends!

Shayan and Nizam will be making a special end-of-the-decade appearance at the Gallery Cabaret open mic on Sunday, December 27. The program starts at 7pm and we will take the stage sometime after that … but there’s free food, so come early and chill with us until the magic starts!

Gallery Cabaret is located at 2020 N. Oakley in Chicago’s Bucktown neighborhood, near the Western/Milwaukee/Armitage intersection and the CTA Blue Line, and is a 21+ venue. (Sorry kids!)

The Major Majors will be doing a special reunion performance on October 3 at Fumare Lounge in Schaumburg. We expect to kick things off around 10.

Fumare Lounge is located at 305 W. Golf Road in Schaumburg, and is an 18+ venue. Please note that there is a $9/person cover charge, which includes hookah and beverage.

Shayan and Nizam will be trying out some new material at the Abbey Pub‘s open mike tonight. We’ll probably be taking the stage around 9, if past experience is any indication, but come on by and join us for a burger beforehand!

The Abbey Pub is located at 3420 W. Grace in Chicago, at the corner of Grace and Elston.

Shayan and Nizam will be performing at Red Eyes Cafe‘s open mic on Tuesday, June 9, between 6 and 8 pm.

Red Eyes Cafe is located at 4164 N. Lincoln in Chicago.

The Major Majors are planning to focus-group a couple of our new tunes at The Fixx Coffee Bar on Wednesday, June 11. The open mic starts around 8:00, but we’ll go on whenever we go on. We will also be accompanying our good friend Omar Azam on a few of his originals.

The Fixx is located at 3053 N. Sheffield, close to the Belmont and Wellington L stations.

Come catch us play a short set Thursday night at the excellent Mercury Cafe in West Town. As a special treat, we’ll have Haroon Qureshi on the tabla.

It’s all part of Cafe Finjan, a night of Jewish and Muslim performers coming together to present their music and entertainment. Doors open at 6:30 PM, all ages, suggested donation $5.
